Three kittens realized they no longer needed to hide. They found courage and started to purr.

Three feline siblings, Cara, Valencia, and Cutie, came to their foster home through IndyHumane when they were around five weeks old.
Cutie, the tiniest of the trio, walked right out of the carrier, explored around her new digs, and curled up snugly in her foster mom’s lap. Her two siblings weren’t as brave as they remained huddled in a corner and refused to come out.
Cara was the most vocal with his grump—despite all the hissing and spitting, there was not a mean bone in his body. It was all bark, and no bite. Valencia was quietly wedged between her brother and the carrier. She timidly looked at her foster mom, Jennifer, with those sad doe eyes, and was too afraid to move.

Jennifer knew just the trick to get them to warm up to her. She placed a plate of wet food in the carrier, and the two just scarfed it down. With a little taste of indoor life, it was enough for them to accept being scooped up by their human friend.
While the long-haired siblings were still a bit shaken from all the changes, Cutie the cream kitten already felt at home.

“Cutie was extra small. She only weighed 11 ounces, about a half pound smaller than her siblings. She loves attention and absolutely adores Valencia and Cara,” Jennifer shared with Love Meow.
Care was the most timid of the three, and Valencia came with a little worried face. “They look very similar, but Cara’s coat is just slightly darker or redder.”

Over the next couple of days, the two fluffballs came out of their shells to play and explore. With their newfound courage, Cara was able to walk around with his tail held high, and he no longer tried to camouflage himself in hideouts.
Cutie has been getting extra attention from her bigger siblings. They like to wrap their arms around her and wash her face, and in return, she nuzzles into their fluff and purrs herself to sleep.

Valencia and Cutie were treated for some health issues and given supportive care. Being the smallest of the bunch, Cutie was the most vulnerable and needed extra attention and care.
Her siblings would cuddle up to her to cheer her on, and provide the comfort she needed to heal.

A few days later, their weights were back on track, and Cutie even started playing again. She never ceased to amaze her people with her will to live.

Today, Cutie tipped the scale at over 15 ounces, and it made everyone so proud. “She should join the one pound club in the next day or two,” Jennifer said.

Valencia is a cat toy aficionado. She likes to inspect them all and try them out before her siblings get to have their turns.
Cara has become more confident and adventurous. He is a productive “biscuit maker”, and having a soft blanket to knead on makes him the happiest kitty in the world.

Cutie has grown in size and strength and can climb up a cat tree in one breath. She loves snuggling with her siblings who are always more gentle with her than each other.
