They showed up at the door with a kitten, desperate to save him. Overnight, the young cat sprang back to life.

A week ago, two young people showed up at the door of PuppyKittyNYCity (an animal rescue), holding a tiny, lifeless kitten and begging for help.

The kitten was so frail that he couldn’t keep his head up. Dehydrated and malnourished, he desperately needed intervention. The finders brought the defenseless little guy to the rescue that night, hopeful they could still save him.

Meagan, president of the rescue, and her team took one look at the kitten, quickly brought him inside, and later rushed him to an animal hospital.

The kitten named Inky lay on a blanket, limp and lethargic, but he held on and even made an effort to open his eyes.

Despite all the uncertainties, they were determined to give Inky a fighting chance. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, Inky was admitted to receive treatment and round-the-clock care from the veterinary staff.

When they returned to see him the next day, they were greeted by a “mini panther” full of renewed energy. To their surprise, the kitten had a lot to say.

Inky sprang back to life overnight and found his voice. As they checked his temperature, breathing, eyes, and ears, he meowed his little heart out throughout the exam. He had a tiny body but quite the set of lungs on him.

While evaluating the kitten, they noticed his unsteady gait and slight tremors and suspected he might have a mild case of cerebellar hypoplasia – the wobbliness might subside over time as the kitten is nourished and regains health.

Inky screamed at the top of his lungs until he was held snugly by a little human in her arms.

Being a bit unsteady doesn’t seem to slow down Inky at all, especially when it is time to eat.

Inky is hand-reared around the clock by a dedicated carer and absolutely adores being pampered. With his ravenous appetite, he’s already gained a rotund belly and proudly shows it off after each feeding.

He clamors for attention using his powerful pipes and gazes at his people with his baby-blue eyes. He seems to know how to work his charm and has his humans wrapped around his little paw.

In just a few days, Inky has put on weight and regained a new zest for life. He’s been enjoying belly rubs, playing, and working on his balance and coordination.

Just a week ago, Inky appeared listless at the door. No one was sure if he would pull through that night. Now, he’s eating like a king, honing his walk, and channeling his inner panther.

“He’s a strong little guy with a lot of fight,” Meagan shared with Love Meow.

His favorite thing in the world is still mealtime with his caretaker. He slips into a focused trance while eating, his ears twitching subtly as he savors his food.

After filling his tummy to the brim, he flops over, belly up, happily swiping at the air with his micro-claws.

Despite the rough beginning, Inky has made quite the comeback, now full of joy, energy, and playful antics.
