Today was Rover’s important day in hospital for his life changing surgery. He went in very relaxed and we have very much missed him all day. Checking our phones constantly for updates on how it went. When it finally came time to call and ask if we could bring him home, they informed us that whilst the surgery went very well without complications, it was a very very big surgery and he needs to stay in hospital for monitoring tonight. We will call again in the morning to see if he might be able to come home tomorrow. Yes we miss him, but we want for him to stay in hospital for as long as he needs for the most successful recovery.

We will keep you all updated when we know more.

For those that might have missed it, in short, Rover was born with reproductive organs that are female on the inside and male on the outside. They’re not meeting up properly and it’s causing infections from leaking. So it’s life saving surgery for Rover.

There might be some people thinking well I’d really like to help out with Rover’s surgery costs, but I would like to share with you all that we have covered the costs of Rover’s surgery and care already with the help of our very generous farm community. We don’t even have to ask and our followers find a way. It is an absolute honour and privilege to be a part of this amazing community.

Together, wanting to help a dog in need that has really had a tough start in life, not only saves his life and gives him the best possible start of a NEW life full of hope … it also takes the financial pressure off an already stretched rescue/shelter with so many dogs in their loving care coming into a very challenging time of year.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all our followers that helped us help Rover today. We will be thinking of Rover tonight and praying he recovers well and is home with us as soon as he is ready.
