Vitakraft has been making pet products for 180 years! Established in Germany as a small pet store near Bremen, the company now has 2,000 employees all over the world. You can learn more about their fascinating background on their website. I particularly love that their headquarters building in Germany features a giant sign of their logo along with their motto, “Aus Liebe.” Literally translated, it means “out of love.”

Vitakraft recently debuted two new products in its signature Lick ‘n’ Lap™ snack line, including Lick ‘n’ Lap™ Smooth Jelly, Lick ‘n’ Lap™ Cat Treats, and Lick ‘n’ Lap™ Meaty Gravy.

These treats are intended as in-between meal treat, training tool, or as a meal topper for finicky eaters. They can be enjoyed straight from the tube or squeezed into a dish.

These treats are Vitakraft’s top seller. They come in chicken and salmon flavors and contain Omega-3’s to support a healthy coat and skin, and aurine to support a healthy heart. They come in 5-pack squeezable tubes.

Meaty Morsels are soft, chewy treats containing 70% meat ingredients. They’re soft enough to hide pills inside, and come in chicken and chicken with salmon flavors.

Putting Vitakraft treats to the test

We were sent the Lick ‘n’ Lap Snacks, Smooth Jelly and Meaty Morsels. The Lick ‘n’ Lap Snacks were a huge hit with Allegra right off the bat, as you can see in the video below. My apologies for the somewhat wobbly video, it was a little challenging to hold the phone with one hand and squeeze the tube fast enough with the other hand for Allegra’s taste!

She was a little less enthusiastic about the Smooth Jelly. The Meaty Morsels were a no go for her, which didn’t surprise me since she has never liked soft, chewy treats. I can tell you that the morsels have a VERY strong smell, so I could see how they would be a hit with a lot of cats.

These treats are great to use a training aid. Certified Feline Training and Behavior Specialist Molly DeVoss uses them to turn shelter cats from scared and shut-down to adoptable.

I love squeezable treats for their versatility. I use a variety of brands and flavors daily to mix with Allegra’s vitamin B12 and other supplements. I also  use them as a “chaser” after giving her thyroid medication, since you should never dry pill a cat. Vitakraft’s Lick ‘N’ Lap Treats are definitely her current favorite!

Vitakraft treats are available from Chewy, Amazon and other major retailers.

2 Comments on Review: Vitakraft Lick ‘N’ Lap Snacks

  1. Allegra makes a good sales cat. She sure seems to enjoy it.

  2. I haven’t tried any of these lickable kind of treats yet. Seeing how much Allegra loves it has me wanting to buy some for my girls.
