A few days ago, Jenny, a volunteer for Sparkle Cat Rescue, received a call from her coworker about a gray tabby found in a grocery store parking lot.

She rushed to the location and saw the little one hiding under a car, overheated and panting. Just earlier, the kitten had tumbled out from under another vehicle that was backing out of a parking space.

Jenny’s coworker happened to be in the right place at the right time and saw the kitten before he dashed under a nearby car to hide.

By the time Jenny arrived, the kitten was too exhausted to run away. She gently scooped him out and brought him to safety. “I got him in front of the AC and got him some water,” Jenny shared.

The kitten immediately relaxed, realizing he was safe, taking solace from his rescuer.

He had a sore paw, a small wound behind his ear, and a bloody nose. He was worn out from the ordeal but seemed so thankful. Curled up on a towel in Jenny’s car, he let his rescuer pet him while trying to get some rest.

Jenny contacted her rescue group, hoping to get the kitten the care he desperately needed.

Estimated to be 8-9 weeks old, the kitten had a high fever that persisted for several hours.

“He was rescued this past Wednesday after he fell out from under the car. I highly doubt he’d be alive had he not been rescued,” Stephanie Grantham, founder of Sparkle Cat Rescue, shared.

Stephanie and her team promptly took in the kitten named Archer, providing him with food, meds, and a loving foster home. After a hearty meal and all the necessary treatment, Archer curled up into a ball and fell fast asleep in his carer’s arms.

Archer was immediately trusting and affectionate, snuggling and nuzzling with his caregivers as if trying to make up for lost time.

In just one day, he went from struggling to survive in heavy traffic to napping cozily in loving arms. “He was named by Madison, the daughter of our volunteer who scooped him up to safety. He’s still limping, but he’s feeling much better.”

Surrounded by caring people, Archer feels content and at ease, always eager to cuddle up and bask in their love.

They gifted him a stuffed toy, the bunny, to keep him company while he continued his recovery. He instantly took to his little companion and wrapped his arms around it.

“He is getting stronger each day and so incredibly thankful his life was saved.”

Archer is brimming with joy, purring nonstop, now that he’s in good hands. He likes to roll on his back, revealing his belly spots and stretching his paws happily in the air.

A few belly rubs make him the most joyful kitty in the world.
