A kitten found running near a building saw his life change when a kind person took him in. Her dog became his friend.

After finishing work one day, Colleen left the office building, unaware she’d bring home a tiny kitten that evening.
As she headed to her car, she stopped in her tracks when she spotted a black kitten running near the building. The sight of people terrified him so much that he tried to climb the wall.
The kitten was alone and needed help, so Colleen and another passerby stayed behind to rescue him.

They managed to catch the kitten, who was too stunned to make a sound. When no one offered to take him, Colleen stepped up to help. “I wasn’t going to leave him there in the big parking lot,” Colleen shared with Love Meow.
By the time she got home and tried to bring the kitten inside, he had hidden behind the dashboard. Using a camera and a can of fish as a lure, they eventually coaxed the fearful kitten out, though not without a struggle. “He was very jumpy and scared.”

Though his world had changed suddenly, the kitten soon warmed up to the comforts of indoor life. That night, he fell asleep in a quiet room on his makeshift bed with a full belly.
The next day, Colleen and her husband provided the kitten with fresh towels, food, and supplies. They watched as the fear in his eyes melted away with each comforting pet and nourishing meal.

Colleen sat with the kitten, gently petting and cuddling him, reassuring him that he was safe. To her delight, the little one leaned into her hands, switching on his purr engine, the rumbling sound growing louder by the second.
The couple initially planned to foster the kitten until they could find him a good home, but the tiny house panther soon convinced them otherwise.

With newfound confidence, the kitten devoured each meal with gusto, even placing his paws in the dish as if to stamp his approval. He scampered around the house and played joyfully with his new toys.
After tiring himself out, he snuggled up to his people for comfort. “He likes cuddles and likes to be held. I’m getting attached.”
D and Mr. Carson became fast friendsColleen
Mr. Carson, one of the family dogs, was excited to meet the kitten. Despite never having seen a dog, the kitten didn’t hiss or swat, allowing his new canine friend to sniff him whenever his people held him.
After a few days of getting to know each other, Colleen walked in to find the two napping together, curled up in a cozy cuddle puddle.

The kitten accepted Mr. Carson as his big brother and decided he was the perfect nap buddy. They began sharing their humans’ laps, dog beds, and the couch during TV time. Whenever Carson was on a chair, the kitten would hop up to join him.
Soon, they stopped looking for a home for the kitten as he had wriggled his way into their hearts.

Within two weeks, the kitten, named D, went from a scared stray wandering alone outside to a cherished member of the family.
“He likes to be wherever we are and sleeps often with Mr. Carson. He likes to be around when we are eating and won’t leave us alone, so we now feed the animals when we eat dinner at the same time.”
Best of friendsColleen
It’s been about three months since Colleen found D in the parking lot. He’s now spending his first Christmas with the family, playing to his heart’s content with his best friend, Carson.
