American toads are not popular pets, but they are easy to find around the United States, along with many similar species around the world. They’re pretty small, and very hardy animals that can survive many various climates. With that said, they’re basically just food for a bunch of other animals, while eating pests at the same time. Keep in mind, they’re essentially all wild caught and not captive bred, so keeping one may affect natural populations or not-so-great sellers.
