A kind-hearted person offered a shelter cat and her three kittens a fresh start. One of them was quick to take charge.

When Heidi Shoemaker, founder of Foster Kitten Mama, learned about a cat family needing placement at a shelter, she jumped at the chance to help.
They arrived at the rescue on a Sunday last month, where Heidi was met with a sweet, affectionate mom cat named Misty. Purring up a storm, Misty seemed relieved to have found a quiet and comfortable place instead of the confines of a shelter kennel.
She had been taking great care of her kittens (Stormy, Breezy, and Rainy), who were plump and happy. Out of the three munchkins, one was quick to stand out.

Rainy, a solid gray kitten, immediately stole the spotlight. Though still honing her walk, she waddled around with an air of confidence. “She is super outgoing and playful. She has one lazy eye, but that doesn’t slow her down,” Heidi shared with Love Meow.
Unlike her siblings, who relished their naps, Rainy was wiggling around, batting at toys, or wrestling with anyone nearby.

The little family ended up needing more help than expected when they fell sick after their stay at the shelter. With proper care, comfy beds, and plenty of TLC, they were nursed back to health.
As Rainy grew bigger and stronger, she transformed into a ball of energy, bouncing around with vigor. Her mischievous nature and googly eyes added an extra layer of charm.

Rainy often pulled her siblings into a wrestling match in the midst of snuggling with mama Misty. She was the first to try new toys, leaping around to catch them, dominating every play session.
But the moment Heidi scooped her up, she started making “biscuits,” kneading away in the air.

Though her eyes seemed to have a mind of their own, they never missed a target during play, always locked on with precision. As the kittens entered their teenage phase, they became bolder and more curious, scaling the playpen and jumping on top of cat posts twice their height.
Rainy, Misty’s little mini-me, is the bravest and the most adventurous.

She plots her daily antics and keeps her mom on her toes, always vying to be the center of attention. “Rainy is a little whirlwind.”
While her brother Snowy spends most of his time snoozing in dreamland, Rainy romps around, pouncing and chasing after toys. With a burst of energy, she leaps atop the tallest cat post and takes in her surroundings with her wide, googly eyes.

Knowing how much Misty adores her trio, Heidi hoped to get her adopted with at least one of her kittens. While kittens find homes quickly, mother cats are often overlooked.
Over the weekend, Heidi received great news for Misty – a lovely family fell head over heels for her and her boy, Stormy.

Once the kittens are old enough, the family will officially welcome the mother and son into their home. Meanwhile, Rainy and her beloved sister, Breezy, continue their foster journey, hoping for their happily ever after together.

After their time at the shelter, Rainy and her siblings are thriving in their foster home with their doting mom watching over them every step of the way.
