Concern as kitten feared abandoned at Pontypridd B&Q store.

The kitten was found in the store’s car park – prompting the RSPCA to launch an appeal for information to the local community.

The RSPCA has received reports about a male kitten that was believed to have been dumped at a B&Q store in Pontypridd.

Officers from the charity were alerted after the ginger and white kitten was found in the car park of the Ynysangharad Road store on Monday (27 September).

A caller to the charity reported that the young puss appeared in the car park amongst parked vehicles whilst other vehicles were seen driving away.

An appeal for information has now been launched – in the hope of identifying where the kitten may have come from, and to see if anyone in the local community recognises him.

The 12-week-old kitten was taken to a local veterinary practice – and he was found to be riddled with fleas, but had no other welfare issues. He was not microchipped.

RSPCA inspector Gemma Black said: “Worryingly, we’ve received claims that this kitten appeared to be dumped from a car at the B&Q store in Pontypridd.

“Of course, the kitten could have made his own way to the store car park – so we’re appealing for information, in case anybody knows more or at least recognises this poor cat.

“He was flea-ridden, but thankfully okay otherwise – and we’re grateful to those members of the public who brought his plight to our attention.

“Anyone with information about this ginger and white kitten can contact our inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018.”
